A construction worker has died on the site of one of the most high-profile stadiums for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The organising body for the finals, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SCDL) announced that there had been “a work-related fatality” at the Al Wakrah Stadium site, but gave no further information as to the worker’s identity or the exact cause behind the death.
In a statement it said: “It is with deep regret we announce a work-related fatality on one of our projects.
