Willmott Dixon takes on £8.8m cladding project

The work has been commissioned following changes to the government’s Building Safety Act.

Ridge and Partners LLP are project managing the work.

The project will include the removal and replacement of the building’s existing seven-storey facade.

A new exterior has been designed by Design Engine Architects incorporating a mix of render, brickwork, and timber.

Michelle Cotterill, director at Willmott Dixon, said: “We hope this project will bring residents and the surrounding community peace of mind.”

Residents will continue to live in the building while the work is carried out. Therefore a resident liaison officer has been appointed to keep the community informed and answer questions.

The officer will be based on site throughout the duration of the project.

Cotterill added: “We recognise that the works may cause unavoidable disruption, but we plan to minimise interruptions as much as possible, with our resident liaison officer playing a vital role in keeping people up to date, answering questions, and acting as the go between for residents and the delivery team.”
