Warning over use of combustible insulation boards on ductwork

A UK trade body has issued a warning over the continued use of non-certified polyisocyanurate board on ductwork.

Members of the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA), which represents contractors involved in the application of hot and cold thermal insulation, are still reporting the use of Euroclass F, non-certified polyisocyanurate (PIR) board, on ductwork.

TICA body originally sounded the alarm over the use of PIR on internally located ductwork in November 2022. It is currently also highlighting a growing issue over the use of non-certified PIR boards on externally located ductwork.
