VolkerWessels firms first to achieve new construction quality standard

VolkerStevin and VolkerFitzpatrick are the first two organisations to achieve a new quality standard designed specifically for the built environment.

The firms are part of the Dutch construction services conglomerate VolkerWessels.

BS 99001:2022 is a quality management system standard published in July 2022 that builds on ISO 9001 but is specifically developed for the built environment.

It includes expanded requirements to those in ISO 9001, which are key to the sector, such as competence, design quality, temporary works, inspection and test plans and documented information.
