Sir Robert McAlpine has reached 150 members within its ranks in the same year that the contractor celebrates its 150th anniversary.
The news came as Sir Robert McAlpine chief executive Paul Hamer spoke about his company’s role in changing Britain’s cities and building a legacy over the contractor’s 150-year history.
Hamer was interviewed about the firm’s achievements as part of a video produced by ITN Productions in association with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
The video, fronted by presenter Natasha Kaplinsky, looks at the firm’s philosophy over the generations, as well as how it is attempting to increase diversity among the industry’s workforce.
Speaking as part of the video, Hamer said: “We changed the skyline of major cities, be it London, be it Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds. With that, we become associated with iconic changes to Britain and the way that Britain functions.”
