Kier has installed two super-span gantries each weighing 38t at junctions 13-15 of the M6.
The work is part of a project worth up to £335.4m to make the section of road into a smart motorway.
Kier required a special movement order for an abnormal load to escort the gantries from the north east of England.
Each of the super-span gantries has a width of 40 metres and are the largest new structures installed on the project.
