Laing O’Rourke has released a behind-the-scenes look at its offsite manufacturing facilities at Explore Industrial Park, near Worksop in Nottinghamshire.
The video shows off some of the manufacturing processes involved in what the contractor claims is the most automated concrete products facility in Europe.
The factory is capable of producing 9,000 sq m of lattice floor and twinwall and 1,350 sq m of architectural cladding per week.
The company has invested £150m in Explore Industrial Park so far. In addition to the manufacturing facility itself, it also features buildings constructed using the company’s products, including prototype apartments that were constructed in eight days by a team of six people.
