A project update shows the installation of a hybrid pitch at Everton FC’s new stadium ahead of its completion and handover by the end of the year.
The turf comprises millions of synthetic fibres stitched together into newly laid topsoil using specialised machinery.
The intensive process follows the recent sowing of grass seeds, which are covered periodically with a germination blanket to protect them and to allow light and water to penetrate and warm the soil to speed growth.
