Aecom has offered a behind-the-scenes look at how it undertook the “complex” construction of the 2019 Serpentine Pavilion, designed by Japanese architect Junya Ishigami.
Aecom teamed up with contractor Stage One to build the ‘organically shaped’ struccture, which features an imposing stone roof made from Cumbrian slate.

The video shows how a slender structural steel frame, designed to support a roof six times its weight, was installed ahead of the 60 tonnes of slate.
