Vauxhall bus station in London, designed by Arup Associates, looks set to be demolished after 15 years, after housing secretary Robert Jenrick gave the go-ahead for the move.
The station, which opened in 2005 and features two prominent, 200m-long stainless steel ribbons likened to a “ski jump”, has been under threat for several years after Lambeth Council approved plans to develop an empty plot next to it, as well as to make road safety improvements in the area, which would involve changing the bus station’s location.
