Trimble has revealed the 2025 updates to its Tekla software suite, including AI enhancements.
The AI assistant is available within the product as an extension and as a web app in Tekla User Assistance. It provides “accurate and concise answers” to users’ questions on Tekla products – Tekla Structures, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds or Tekla PowerFab – by using the Tekla User Assistance knowledge base.

Using the Tekla PowerFab Connector functionality in Tekla Structures, the detailer can submit packages for estimating, purchasing and fabrication with a single click to Tekla PowerFab steel fabrication management software. This ensures that material profiles, project statuses and submittals are fully synchronised in real-time, enabling detailers to receive up-to-date information and direct feedback on submittals from fabricators.
The Live Collaboration service (new as a preview in Tekla Structures 2025) enables working in the same model using either Trimble Connect or Tekla Structures. This allows project stakeholders to adopt a model-based review of progress.
Meanwhile, integration improvements between Tekla PowerFab 2025 and Tekla Structures 2025 eliminate the need for manual data transfer of file exports and imports. “This greatly reduces the probability of errors and enhances the shared visibility of projects,” says Trimble.
In the new version, the Tekla Structures Connector allows fabricators to share their profile catalogue with detailers, ensuring that only compatible materials and finishes are used in detailing. Real-time validation through automated submittals during all stages of a project reduces the probability of errors.
Structural Designer updates
Models created in Trimble SketchUp can now serve as reference models within Tekla Structural Designer, strengthening the architect-to-structural engineer workflow.
Trimble has also enhanced the integration of Tekla Structural Designer with Revit, allowing for bi-directional transition of models between Revit and Tekla Structural Designer. The Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Revit 2025 includes “improved connectivity rules, additional profile families for the UK and USA markets, and enhanced analytical model creation for more accurate and connected models”.
Tekla Structural Designer 2025 also features an easier way to map user-defined attributes between Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Structures, which includes data on critical design values under fire conditions, to address the growing importance of fire safety.
Finally, Tekla Tedds has introduced new temporary works calculations for outrigger loading design (EN1997/TWf) and crane wind loading assessment (BS ISO 4302).
