An interactive recreation of the entire Olympic Park made entirely from Lego bricks went on display at the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre this week.
Created over the course of 400 hours by a team of the UK’s top Lego builders, the scale model replicates the iconic Olympic skyline with an impressive 50,000 Lego pieces.
The 3m x 3m model features distinctive landmarks, including the red tower of the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the Aquatics Centre and the Olympic Stadium, and also provides a preview of the park’s first legacy neighbourhood, the 2,818-home East Village (formerly the Athletes’ Village) which is due to open in Summer 2013, exactly a year after the Games.
