The number of accidents and injuries recorded by companies belonging to the National Access & Scaffolding Federation (NASC) fell to an all-time low in 2019.
NASC’s 2020 Safety Report showed that there were just 74 incidents involving scaffolding operatives last year.
The incidents equate to one injury for every 230 operatives, a significant improvement on last year’s one injury for every 150 operatives.
Of the 74 incidents, 13 were recorded as major, requiring hospital treatment, with the remaining 61 recorded as over seven days. These figures are both the lowest on record.
