There was minimal growth in construction output during August, according to the latest official figures.
The Office for National Statistics recorded a 0.1% rise in output in the three months to August compared to the three months before, driven by a 0.5% rise in new work, offset by a decline in repair and maintenance work of 0.8%.
Private housing, private commercial and public new housing helped to drive the increase in new work, with rises of 1%, 0.9% and 3.6% respectively.
