An innovative glow-in-the-dark concrete has been used in a major commercial development for the first time.
Tarmac installed its Toptint Glow product on the main walkways and first floor balconies of the new Glass Yard development in Chesterfield.
The concrete contains light-sensitive chippings that absorb ultraviolet rays during the day and radiate a soft luminescent light at night, using Chryso’s Lumintech technology.
Toptint Glow has been designed to be used in architectural and landscape design as an alternative to conventional pavements and to help illuminate areas such as footpaths, cycleways and pedestrian spaces.
