The London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police are investigating the cause of a fire at the site of a Bouygues residential complex under construction in East London on Tuesday (4 June).
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters responded to the fire near Silvertown Way, Canning Town, according to the London Fire Brigade.
One person was rescued by firefighters using a 13.5m ladder. Eight people left the building before the fire services arrived, seven of whom were taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation. The London Fire Brigade deployed one of its 64m turntable ladders to the scene as part of its response.
