Lee Rowley has been appointed as housing minister in the latest cabinet reshuffle by prime minister Rishi Sunak.

Rowley takes on the role for the second time, becoming the 16th housing minister since the Conservative party rose to power in 2010.

His stint in housing lasted around seven weeks during the brief premiership of former PM Liz Truss in 2022. He also served as construction minister under Boris Johnson, although he resigned from the role as part of the wave of resignations that led to Johnson’s downfall.
