Contractor Leadbitter, a subsidiary of Bouygues UK, has completed construction of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute’s new £17m All-weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole, Dorset.
The charity decided to centralise the manufacture and repair of its Shannon class all-weather boats due to concerns about the decline of regional boatyards.
The new complex features three paint booths used to apply primer and paint to the boats, and moveable platforms to access the boats during fit-out or re-fit.
