A total of 15 companies, including Laing O’Rourke, Multiplex and Amazon, have become founding members of the new ConcreteZero programme.

ConcreteZero commits companies to working towards a goal of 100% net-zero concrete by 2050. Shorter-term commitments include the use of 30% low-emission concrete by 2025, and 50% by 2030.

Concrete production contributes 8% of global annual carbon emissions.
