Kier has built a coastal defence at Blue Anchor beach, Somerset, to protect the cliffs, walls and a nearby road from continued erosion.
Aggregate Industries supplied 13,500 tonnes of granite from its Scottish super quarry for the construction.
The stone was transported by sea from Glensanda Quarry in Western Scotland to Blue Anchor beach near Minehead, Somerset. It required three sailings carrying 4,500 tonnes of granite, each trip taking 21 days to complete.
