
Interserve has completed the second phase of NHS Nightingale Hospital Birmingham, housed in the NEC exhibition centre, with the handover of a further 390 beds.
The temporary hospital now has a total of 1,200 beds available, delivered by a team of 400 employees and contractors and 60 Gurkhas, led by Interserve.
NHS Nightingale Hospital Birmingham is one of seven Nightingale hospitals in the England, offering critical care beds in response to the covid-19 epidemic.
The Birmingham hospital, which became operational on 10 April, was built in the NEC in eight days, was officially opened by the Duke of Cambridge, using a video link, on 16 April.
