The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has appointed Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) fellow and trustee Ian Brant as the council’s new deputy chair.
He is a director at Brant Construction Quantum Experts, a consultancy specialising in construction dispute avoidance, dispute resolution and drafting expert quantum reports.
At CIOB, Brant has served on national and international committees for the institute and is currently an elected trustee.
He is expected to take on the role, subject to CIC approval, after the current chair, Dr Wei Yang, steps down from her two-year term during CIC's June 2025 Council meeting. Dr Yang will then take up the position of immediate past chair for a final year, adhering to CIC's rules and bylaws.
