Graham has been appointed as the main contractor for the £110m redevelopment of the former Boddingtons Brewery site on Great Ducie Street in central Manchester.
The project is for Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group. Graham will build 505 new mixed-tenure homes on the 1.25-acre brownfield site.
The proposed buildings will feature a traditional brick facade, aluminium windows and Juliet balconies to reflect the industrial heritage of the area.

The development has already secured Gateway 2 approval, which means that construction of higher-risk buildings can start.
Construction is due to begin this summer, with completion expected in autumn 2028.
Richard Cook, chief development officer at Clarion Housing Group, said: “Boddingtons is a cornerstone of our ambitions for central Manchester to deliver high-quality, affordable new homes and a striking new presence on the city’s skyline. This project will transform a long-derelict site and help address the city’s growing housing need with a focus on design, safety and sustainability.”
Stephen Van den Hoek, Graham’s regional director, said: “Securing Gateway 2 approval is a significant milestone and reflects the collaborative effort between our teams to meet the highest standards of safety and design.”
The November/December 2025 issue of Construction Management magazine is now available to read in digital format.
