The go-ahead for what has been billed as the UK’s first habitable “super slender” tower has been granted by Birmingham City Council.
The 37-storey skyscraper, developed by Taylor Grange Developments, will be 116.5m tall and just 9.5m wide.
The building is destined to be a 264-room aparthotel with views across the city centre.
Lisa Deering, director at Glancy Nicholls Architects, said: “Advances in engineering and construction technology have allowed us to design an iconic building that will enhance Birmingham’s skyline and bring a new type of skyscraper to the city.
