First UK Passivhaus hotel planned in North Yorkshire

Chartered building surveyor Silverstone Building Consultancy has been appointed to oversee the construction of what could be the first Passivhaus hotel in the UK.

Subject to planning approval, the development will involve demolition of an existing 20-bed hotel and building a new 1,795 sq m facility. It would feature an expanded restaurant and bar on the ground floor.

It has been designed by architecture firm Bowman Riley.
