First light-gauge steelwork specification published

The British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) has published the first National Light-gauge Steelwork Specification (NLSS) to support more widespread use of galvanised cold-formed steel.

NLSS describes the information to be included in a project specification, including materials used, transfer of design information, manufacture, assembly, installation, requirements for protective treatment, and quality management.

Light-gauge steel frame structures use galvanised cold-formed steel sections as the primary structural components which can be assembled into prefabricated panels.
