At least five timber frame houses under construction were destroyed on Sunday night when a fire ripped through part of a Renfrewshire building site in Scotland.
The fire started around 7pm and tore through the Persimmon Homes’ Spateston site in Johnstone before three fire engines and 15 firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze after three hours.
Persimmon Homes began work on the £13m housing scheme of around 144 homes at the former school site at the start of the year.
