Demolition contractor MGL Group has partly demolished Carliol House, in Newcastle’s city centre, while retaining the building’s Grade II-listed facade.
Carliol House is an office complex built in the 1920s which housed the headquarters of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Electric Supply Company.
MGL Demolition has reduced the building height by three floors. The contractor is currently carrying out a full-height separation spanning over 8m to completely detach and release the listed facade from the building to be demolished.
