Ex-ISG hyperscale director joins Mace to lead key sectors

Gary Sweeney has been appointed director for healthcare, life sciences and technology at Mace
Mace has appointed Gary Sweeney to head its European team in the healthcare, life sciences and technology sectors.
Sweeney's experience spans three decades in manufacturing engineering, including senior positions at several global companies.
He joins Mace from Turner & Townsend, where he spent six months as interim director of the business's advanced manufacturing, industrial and logistics division in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Before that, he was the director of growth and innovation at ISG's hyperscale business unit from March 2024 until the group's collapse in September last year.
He also spent 10 months as ISG's director of future mobility and manufacturing industrial sectors between 2023 and 2024, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Sweeney's appointment follows Mace's amalgamation of several of its key sectors under a single leadership structure to improve delivery through collaboration and resource sharing.
Springboard for further growth
Last month, Mace was appointed with Turner & Townsend as the programme delivery partner for the UK's New Hospital Programme. The contractor said this scheme would “serve as a springboard for further growth across the continent”.
Sweeney is expected to grow Mace’s life sciences business in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. He will also work with teams in North America engaged with major pharmaceutical companies.
Mace is also looking at data centres and semiconductor manufacturing as areas for growth within the technology sector.
Sweeney said: “Mace’s commitment to engaging clients early and working in partnership to help them shape their visions was a big reason behind my move. It’s a powerful proposition and one that resonates with me, having spent decades focusing on products and processes housed within the infrastructure Mace delivers."
