Esther McVey
Esther McVey has been sacked as minister of state for housing after just over six months in the job, as part of prime minister Boris Johnson’s post-election ministerial reshuffle.
Former GMTV presenter McVey was appointed in July in Johnson’s last reshuffle to replace Kit Malthouse.

But she confirmed her sacking in a tweet today saying: “I’m very sorry to be relieved of my duties as housing minister. I wish my successor the very best and every success. I’m very grateful to the prime minister for having given me the opportunity to serve in his government and he will continue to have my support from the back benches.”
