The 42-storey ‘Cucumber’ tower and a cluster of other high-rise buildings in London’s Paddington basin have been given the go-ahead by planners.
Developers European Land and Property had already won permission for the 42-storey mixed-use tower, known as 1 Merchant Square, in 2011. While the building is set to remain the same externally, it will now contain more homes at the expense of a smaller-than-originally-planned hotel element. It will feature a two-storey sky bar at the top.
