Building materials supplier Cemex will use 100% renewable electricity at all 150 of its UK sites as of next year.
The news comes following a deal with energy and services firm Engie, which has been providing electricity to Cemex sites for more than 10 years, as well as supplying gas to 33 sites.
The current contract is to be extended for a further 12 months.
Cemex said the supply of renewable energy, which comes from sources including wind energy, would help reduce its overall carbon footprint.
