BAM has started work on a new £36m ultra-low energy swimming pool and leisure centre, the first of its kind in Scotland.

Architect Holmes Miller has designed Blairgowrie Recreation Centre to Passivhaus standards, which will make the building zero carbon.

The leisure centre will have a six-lane competition swimming pool, a games hall, sports hall, dance studio, fitness suite and classroom space and an external all-weather sports pitch.
