The Cargo building, a 324-apartment residential property in Liverpool, has been awarded the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) In-Use residential certification – the first of its kind worldwide.
Built by Balfour Beatty, with Faithful+Gould appointed the project’s surveyor, the Cargo building is part of a portfolio managed by Federated Homes, located close to the city’s Albert Dock, and is the city’s first build-to-rent scheme.
The BREEAM In-Use assessment, the latest version of which was introduced earlier this year, measures buildings against a range of variables, such as energy efficiency, health and wellbeing, water and land use, pollution and resilience.
