The grim fallout of Carillion’s collapse continued today as the Official Receiver said a further 452 employees would be let go.
This adds to the 377 redundancies announced on Friday (2 February).
The government’s Official Receiver said it had saved 100 jobs linked to public sector contracts, but 452 jobs in private-sector functions could not be maintained.
“As part of the ongoing liquidation of the Carillion group, we have reviewed additional public and private sector contracts, as well as core divisions of the business,” a spokesman said.
