The Sir Robert McAlpine team delivering the 1 Broadgate mixed-use scheme in the City for British Land is using XYZ Reality’s augmented reality (AR) technology.
The AR technology is enabling the project team to identify and resolve issues in real-time, increasing efficiencies and ultimately reducing programme times and enhancing collaboration, according to Sir Robert McAlpine.
In June last year, the contractor began a knowledge transfer partnership with University College London, Innovate UK and XYZ Reality. The partnership seeks to quantify the benefits of AR using XYZ’s Atom headset on a construction site.
