VIDEO: Instant homes under construction in Bristol

Bristol City Council has become the second client to back an innovative form of factory-built housing that can be built on plots of land not considered suitable, for example city centre car park locations, either on the ground or on raised platforms.

Bristol council has ordered six ZEDpod modular homes as part of its commitment to tackle housing affordability in the city. Construction of the rapid-build dwellings is shown in the video below.

Councillor Paul Smith, Bristol City Council’s cabinet member for housing, committed the council to investing in six modular homes from ZEDPods to be built on a site that would normally be seen as undeliverable in terms of conventional development and offered to people in housing crisis within six months, subject to planning.
