Skanska has chosen Asite as its data management platform for the £259m British Army Vehicle Storage Support Programme (VSSP) facility in Ashchurch, Gloucestershire.

Under the VSSP, Skanska and Mace will provide modern, sustainable and effective storage and maintenance solutions for the 4,100 vehicles in the British Army’s land equipment fleet.

The VSSP contract will involve a complex programme, including the demolition of 58 buildings, construction of 12 new buildings, refurbishment of one existing facility, and renewing site-wide infrastructure.

Skanska also plans to use modern methods of construction to reduce carbon emissions on the project through the offsite manufacturing of key components that will be installed onsite.
