The project manager at McLaren Construction Group on why he decided to work in construction, career goals and changes he would like to see in the industry.
What made you take up a career in construction?
I fell into the role quite unexpectedly. My best friend’s dad had a bricklaying business, so I started as a bricklayer and gradually moved my way up through the ranks.
Over time, I developed a deep appreciation for the construction industry and the impact it has on shaping our communities.
What do you enjoy about the industry and what do you find a challenge?
I enjoy the nature of the construction industry, where every project presents unique challenges and learning opportunities. The collaborative environment and the satisfaction of seeing a project come to life are particularly rewarding.
