The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 2022 came into effect on 6 April.

Construction employers must now provide suitable personal protective equipment (PPE), where there is a health and safety risk, to all workers they use, not just employees.

“These amended regulations follow a High Court ruling that the UK had failed to implement an EU directive on minimum health and safety requirements in the workplace,” says Emma Burrows, partner and head of employment at Trowers & Hamlins.
