How did you get the opportunity to work at Willmott Dixon?
I found the advert for the service desk analyst online and was fortunate enough to be invited to interview for the role.
The interview went swimmingly and here I am, two years on, happily employed at Willmott Dixon.
What do you enjoy about working for Willmott Dixon?
I really enjoy that the role presents the opportunity to help customers on a day-to-day basis regarding a range of IT-related issues.
I also enjoy being able to work as part of a team where we can share ideas and support each other.
How has studying for this apprenticeship helped you in your role so far?
Since starting the apprenticeship, I am far more confident when finding solutions to incidents and requests in my role at the IT service desk.
This is largely due to the apprenticeship, as some of the modules we are studying correlate with the systems and concepts used by our IT department.
What do you hope to be able to do differently as a result of your apprenticeship?
My hope is to have a positive and productive impact on the business by implementing the knowledge and skills gained during the apprenticeship.

Why did you choose this apprenticeship?
Over the past few years, since gaining the Microsoft Power BI accreditation, I have become more involved in regional and national initiatives with data and IT teams.
This course will help me advance my knowledge and support the business in making data-driven decisions, particularly surrounding the supply chain management activities.
All the projects we have undertaken have in some way affected the lives of others, from new schools through to refurbishment of cultural spaces. We make an impact on people’s lives

How did you get the opportunity to work at Willmott Dixon?
I started working at Willmott Dixon as a temporary receptionist for the Bristol office. This then turned into a permanent role.
After some time, I was approached to join the supply chain department and have been working within this team for the past eight years.
What do you enjoy about working for Willmott Dixon?
All the projects we have undertaken have in some way affected the lives of others, from new schools through to refurbishment of cultural spaces. We make an impact on the environment surrounding us and on people’s lives.
But the number one reason I enjoy working for Willmott Dixon is all the people who contribute to making this a collaborative and exciting place to work.
Do you have any thoughts on the value of an apprenticeship towards a long-term career?
Apprenticeships provide a structured pathway for skill development and mentorship, and a strong foundation for long-term career success by enabling side-by-side study and hands-on experience during working hours.
