Mott MacDonald provides smart object library to Environment Agency

The Environment Agency (EA) will use Mott MacDonald’s Moata Intelligent Content as its smart object library, which will be made available to all of the EA’s internal teams and project delivery partners.

The move allows the EA to use and reuse standardised BIM content across its project portfolio, reducing model development time and enabling the rapid prototyping of designs.

Moata Intelligent Content provides a standardised, managed library of BIM objects that can be reused instead of recreated. A team of experts create and quality-check all objects before they are made available. According to Mott MacDonald, this gives the EA and its suppliers the objects they need to develop designs at pace, delivering efficiencies, improving sustainability and helping to reach net-zero carbon targets.

The EA tested Moata for 12 months prior to awarding the contract.
