Jacobs develops new Covid model to help contractors return to work

Jacobs, the Dallas-based consultant, has developed a new Covid-19 modelling software program in collaboration with the University of Cambridge which will assist the return to work of contractors on major infrastructure programmes.

The model can be used to create and assess various work scenarios which clients may face. Jacobs believes it can help those looking to restart public transportation operations, as well as those planning and executing large capital programmes.

The probabilistic model has been reviewed by the Asset Management Group at the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Manufacturing and is being used to help clients such as Network Rail make better-informed decisions as they plan for remobilisation.
