Is collaboration tech procured without the end-users in mind?

Is new technology too complex? Do you always look for shortcuts in systems? Would you rather have stuck with the previous system? If you’re nodding your head to any of those questions, you are not alone.

Results of a new survey reveal that there is a gap between the reality of end-users and the perception of decision-makers. The survey of nearly 200 senior IT staff in architecture, engineering and construction by Ideagen shows that, while these decision-makers deem their collaboration solutions satisfactory, the end-users have a less positive experience with solution functionalities.

The survey establishes that security is the highest priority for respondents. However, the lack of focus on end-user needs and engagement means that staff resort to workarounds and rule-bending, which in turn threatens security.
