HS2 welcomes students for summer placement scheme

Undergraduates from 12 universities will gain experience supporting construction of the high-speed railway project

HS2 has welcomed 32 university students as part of an eight-week summer placement programme. 

The scheme provides work experience in specialist subject areas and is being delivered by Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV), HS2’s construction partner for the West Midlands. 

Now in its third year, the 2024 programme includes a series of placement opportunities at BBV construction sites and offices across south Staffordshire, Birmingham and Warwickshire.
