New training facility will help to support the city’s construction industry
A purpose-built training facility has opened in Worcester to provide opportunities for the local community to gain sustainable construction skills.
The newly completed Building Block Two follows the launch of the original Building Block facility in the city, which has already supported hundreds of learners in gaining construction skills.
The initiative forms part of the Worcester Town Investment Plan and was made possible through government funding, following a successful bid by Worcester City Council.

David Blake, Worcester City Council’s managing director, said: “Our Town Investment Plan was focused on enhancing training opportunities within our community centres. These centres play a vital role in bringing people together, offering support and learning for residents of all ages.
“It’s fantastic to see Building Block Two come to life, providing even more chances for people to develop valuable new skills.
“We hope this facility will support Worcester’s construction industry and help equip residents with the skills they need to thrive.”
GLP Training currently provides training at the Building Block, and will expand its programme to include learners at Building Block Two.
