CMap has launched Atvero Mail, an email management tool designed specifically for firms of all sizes in the built environment.
Atvero Mail offers automated email filing, search functionality to instantly find emails and attachments for any project, and integration across Windows, Mac, and mobile devices. Built on Microsoft Outlook, it ensures “easy adoption and usability with an intuitive system”, according to Atvero. Enhanced security is also provided through Microsoft’s data retention policies, with cloud-based storage “signalling the end for servers and folder structures”.

CMap chief executive Dave Graham said: “Since acquiring Atvero we’ve seen enormous market demand, with new legislation, such as the Building Safety Act, changing the approach AEC firms have toward their information management practices.
“During this time, working closely with our customers and the AEC community, we’ve identified the vital need for a standalone email management tool to provide people with an easier way to get started on their information management journey.”
Familiar environment
Marcus Roberts, head of Atvero, added: “Since CMap’s acquisition of Atvero, we’ve joined forces on our mission to create better software for the AEC industry – that people actually want to use. Atvero Mail is a prime example of that.
“With email remaining a key communication tool when working on projects, there was a market need for an email management product that emphasised discoverability and searchability for AEC firms, while keeping users in their familiar Microsoft 365 environment. This is exactly why we’re developing Atvero Mail.”
The launch of Atvero Mail is also part of a strategic change for the Atvero business. CMap originally acquired Atvero in February 2023 as a document, drawing and email management solution. Following “extensive engagement with the AEC community”, it was decided to split Atvero into two products: Atvero Mail and Atvero PIM. The latter will continue to operate as a document, drawing and email management solution.
