An app for construction vehicle drivers to give their feedback on site entry gates and ground conditions is being trialled by CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety).
Named the CLOCS Vox App, the software gives drivers a voice by capturing and collating their anonymous feedback in real time.
CLOCS is the organisation that strives to improve construction logistics’ safety performance with agreed standards that are beyond legal requirements. It has more than 300 members drawn from across the construction and logistics supply chain.

The app has been developed in response to many commercial vehicle fleet operators’ complaints that site arrangements, ground conditions and gate teams on some sites unknowingly hinder their drivers from safely and efficiently carrying out their tasks.
CLOCS hopes that the feedback from the app will create credible anonymised data that will allow principal contractors to improve their site arrangements.
The app will be available on mobile devices for both gate teams and drivers themselves.
Drivers will be invited to give green/amber/red feedback on four criteria: the site’s last mile route and instructions; site arrangements at arrival and departure; fairness and efficiency of the gate team; and ground conditions.
It should take a driver less than one minute to give their feedback.
BIM+ understands that trials are underway with an unspecified number of the most committed and proactive CLOCS members (known as “champions”).
The app is expected to be launched to the wider base of CLOCS members, their gate teams and their supply chains’ drivers later this year.
The app has been developed and will be maintained via funding from CLOCS champions.
