Carbon calculator targets supply chain sustainability

The carbon calculator from Sustainability Tool.

A carbon calculator has been launched to help organisations and their supply chains track and measure their sustainability performance.

The calculator from the Supply Chain Sustainability School’s (SCSS) delivery partner, Sustainability Tool, is designed to support supply chains with calculating their greenhouse gas emissions, and to provide clients with a view of emissions embedded in their supply chains (their scope 3 emissions).

Suppliers can either input their emissions by scope (if those are already known to them), or complete a simple report covering fossil fuel, company travel, gas and electricity consumption, materials, waste and water data. Upon completion, the report calculates emissions in a dashboard that supports submissions to Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) and other carbon reporting frameworks. The system also allows suppliers to apportion a percentage of their carbon emissions to clients based on financial turnover.
