Howard Russell Construction has retained its award for Best BIM Project by a Small Enterprise at the second annual RICS BIM4SME Awards.
The awards, which took place last week, aim to highlight the success and opportunities in BIM for SMEs with categories designed to provide a broad range of opportunities from beginners starting their BIM implementation to entrants working collaboratively or innovating within the built environment.
Alongside Howard Russell Construction, that followed up its 2015 victory for a distribution centre in Park Royal, seven other SMEs were recognised.

Baxall Construction has been continuing its good work focusing on BIM over the past year, as it followed up its gong for Best Newcomer last year with the award for Best Innovation this year.
This years’s award for Best Newcomer was won by frequent contributor to BIM+, coBuilder.
The award for Best BIM Project by a Medium Enterprise was won by alinea consulting, with White Frog taking home the gong for Best International SME, the London BIM Regions won Best SME Training Strategy, popular video site B1M being named best BIM Knowledge Sharer and Ostick + Williams winning the final award of the night for Best Implementation of Level 2 BIM.
Alongside the award giving, BIM4SME also used the event to launch its new website with vice-chair Rob Klaschka saying: “The site allows us to open up to the whole community and gives us a place to publish. We invite everyone to engage with us and you can all publish to the site – it’s an open platform for everyone to contribute to.”
